MEET YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

Hi! I’m Fernanda Ruiz. I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Orange County, California

I was born and raised in Mexico City but moved to the US with my family 10 years ago. I’ve been married for 17 years and I’m a mom to a 16 year old girl and a 14 year old boy.

I love camping and lately have found a passion for hiking. I am always amazed by the beauty of nature and whenever I need peace in my mind I go on a hike, go to the beach or just go outside to breathe some fresh air. I also love contemporary art so I’m always looking for art exhibitions that I know will be my fuel and inspiration for my work.

Photography is my absolute passion. I love capturing real and raw emotions, that’s why I love documenting weddings.  I normally get emotional, and sometimes I even cry while I listen to the speeches or during the first dance. It’s just amazing to see real love expressed in such natural ways.  I am extremely privileged to be able to do what I love.

engagement sesSION

Having an engagement session  is a great way to get to know us a bit more, get some beautiful photos without the rush of a timeline or to be with your guests. It will give you confidence to be in front of the camera and you will have some photos to use for your Save the Date, Wedding Invitations, or prints for your special day.

KEEP YOUR PEACE OF MIND:

Planning a wedding can be stressful and overwhelming. Here are some tips that can help you keep your peace of mind and enjoy the process.

Invite the people you love. Some people think they should invite people just for a social obligation. This is your day, stay true to who you want to be there to celebrate your love.

Ask for help. Whenever you feel stressed or overwhelmed, ask for help. Go to your loved ones and don’t be ashamed of telling them what you need. You’ll be surprised how people will be more than happy to take some things off your plate.

Make a timeline for your wedding day. One of the best ways to reduce anxiety is to create a timeline for the day. Knowing what is going to happen, will give you peace of mind and have clarity of what is needed.

Enjoy the process. Time flies. Enjoy every part of the process. Now you think it is so far away, but when you notice, it will be done. Breathe and enjoy!

THINK ABOUT THIS

There are a few moments on a wedding day that you can choose to be photographed or not. Discuss it and decide if you want it or not and you can let me know in our final consultation before the wedding.

Getting ready. Some people love to document the whole story of the day, even when they’re not ready yet. Having photos when they’re having their hair and make up done could be a good option if it is something you decide to do.

First look. If you want to have a private moment with your partner or with your parents and have a first look before the ceremony starts, it is another option you can choose.

Portraits. Even though the approach of Eyeblink Photo is a documentary approach, we also take formal portraits so you can have some beautiful portraits of your special day.

Family Portraits. If you want to have family portraits, it is very important that everybody knows what is happening and that you have a list of photos you want so we can have them ready as soon as possible.

the big day

Your wedding day is finally here. All the people you love are in the same place. Everyone is together to celebrate you. You’ll be very excited, nervous, happy, maybe sad if someone can't make it. It’s all part of your story. If you want unique wedding photos, remember:

Be yourself. Don’t worry about posing or pretending to be perfect. Just by being yourself you are perfect, however that comes out. Feel, laugh, cry, be you. Let it all out, don’t be afraid of looking “bad” in the photos. There is no such thing. You’ll never look bad by being yourself. Don’t be afraid.

Be in the moment. Don’t worry about what is next or about what just happened. Be present, mindful.

Your wedding is a celebration, not a performance. Celebrate you and your loved ones. You are all together, probably for the only time in life. Dance, laugh, hug, live your wedding, celebrate!

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. I can’t tell my couples enough... enjoy your wedding day! Some things will probably not go as planned. Who cares? Your wedding will be unique and it depends on you how you react to what happens. Just enjoy and let go.
